Umberto Emil Morelli defends his PhD Thesis in the framework of the ROMSOC project.

ROMSOC is one of the European Industrial Doctorate (EID) programmes, which are one of the Innovative Training Networks (ITN), supported by the H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme. These programmes support scientific careers and foster researchers’ transnational, intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility.
Umberto, within the ROMSOC Project, developed his PhD thesis entitled ‘Efficient computational strategies for the control process of continuous casting machines’. Within his more than 36 months of work on the project, Umberto get a secondment at the industrial participant Danieli & C. S.p.A and at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) in Italy.
On 21 October 2022, online, Umberto defends his thesis in front of a panel of experts. The successful defence is a milestone for the ROMSOC project and for ITMATI/CITMAga as host institution.
ROMSOC project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Grant Agreement No. 765374.
