After a year-long dedication to the project, on February 17 the three Galician universities (University of A Coruña, University of Santiago de Compostela and University of Vigo) signed a cooperation agreement to create the Technological Institute for Industrial Mathematics Consortium (ITMATI). Its main mission is to contribute to strengthen and enhance competitiveness in the industrial and business environment, supporting innovation in the productive sector by achieving excellence in research and development of advanced math-oriented technology transfer to industry. The main aim of this initiative it to combine all the knowledge and experience of the research groups and departments working in the field of industrial mathematics, and make it available to companies and public administrations.
