From July 5th-8th, 2016 Prof. Michel Pierre, from Ecole Normale Supérieur de Cachan and Institut de Recherche Mathématique de Rennes (IRMAR), (Francia), will visit ITMATI to give the course Reaction-difussion systems : global existence L∞,Lp, L1 ,L2 approaches, singular perturbations, asymptotic behavior.
 

The course will take place at  Aula 10 of the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Santiago de Compostela from 5th to 8th July, from 10 :00 to 12 :00 h.

PROGRAM :

  1.  Introduction : reaction-diffusion systems with positivity (P) and control of the total mass (M). Examples arising in various applications
  2. Starting point : L∞ approach. Local existence of classical solutions
  3. A general global existence result: the ”Lp-duality” method 
  4. The structure (P)+(M) does not keep from blowing up
  5. Existence of global weak supersolutions : an  L1-approach
  6. Case of quadratic systems : an  L2-a priori estimate
  7. Singular perturbations : quasi-steady state approximation, fast reactions
  8. Asymptotic behavior
  9. Open problems
