The metallurgical company Ferroatlantica R & D needed to know the behaviour of induction furnaces, which was very costly, in order to melt silicon. The research group mat + i, a regular collaborator of ITMATI, developed  a software tool to improve the design and operation of induction furnaces. Numerical simulation helped studying the problem even before buying the furnace.
