From 18 to 19 January 2016, Dr. Victor Zverovich (Software Developer at AMPL Optimization Inc.) will give the "Solving complex mathematical programming problems with AMPL modelling language". The course will take place in the Aula Magna of the  Faculty of Mathematics (open session to all public) and in the Seminar Lecture room of the Department of Statistics (closed session for researchers in the framework of the Joint Research Unit Repsol-ITMATI).
 

TENTATIVE PROGRAM:  

Block 1: Programming in AMPL
 
  • Overview of AMPL features and comparison with other programming languages
  • Effective modeling in AMPL
  • Introduction to .nl files
  • Database and spreadsheet access
  • Parallelization with AMPL
  • Interesting examples/implementations
 
Block 2: Interfacing with AMPL
  • Embedding AMPL in applications
  • AMPL scripting
  • AMPL API for C++
  • AMPL API: Interesting examples/implementations
  • Solver interfaces, AMPL Solver Library and the AMPL/MP library
  • Parallelization with the AMPL API for C++

NOTE: The room where the course will be held no computers. Those participants who wish to practice with their computer during the course (not required to follow the course) must bring their own computer.

 
This course is framed as activity in the Joint Research Unit Repsol-ITMATI which has funding of the Galician Agency for Innovation and the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in the framework of the Spanish Strategy Innovation in Galicia.
