Consortium

The "Technological Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITMATI)" has the aim of becoming a centre of research and technology transfer of international reference in the field of Industrial Mathematics.
 
This consortium, which began operations in 2011, has been an important milestone of sharing resources among the three Galician universities, University of A Coruña, University of Santiago de Compostela and University of Vigo, to promote the transfer of mathematical technology and provide effective and agile answers to the needs of businesses, industries and government.
 
Our mission
Help strengthen and enhance competitiveness in the industrial and business environment, add value to society, support innovation in the productive sector by achieving excellence in research and develop advanced math-oriented technology transfer to industry .
 
Our aims
  • Act as facilitator and promoter for the introduction and application of techniques and mathematical methods in the Galician, Spanish and international productive sector.
  • Generate technological knowledge and contribute to its application to the development and strengthening of the competitiveness of enterprises in the field of technology and innovation.
  • Produce, promote and disseminate knowledge, especially in the fields of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research. As well as training technical and scientific staff in the technologies and related methods.
  • Contribute to strengthening the relationship between knowledge generators agencies and businesses and provide support services to business innovation.
  • Promote academic and scientific collaborations with major universities and research centres both from Spain and abroad  in the fields of mathematics and other disciplines,  always promoting interdisciplinarity.
  • Bring closer and coordinate basic and applied research, operating as a centre for technology transfer to the industry at regional, national and international level
