ISSRE is the premium conference that focuses on the theory and practice of
software systems reliability engineering. Over the past 20+ years we have
grown to be recognized as the voice of software reliability. From its
humble beginnings in 1990, it has become a conference that has a unique
element to it: a rare combination of strong research and industry
participation.

Topics of interests
ISSRE 2018 is focused on innovative techniques and tools for assessing,
predicting, and improving the reliability, safety, and security of
software products. ISSRE also emphasizes industrial relevance, rigorous
empirical studies and experience reports.

*  Reliability, availability and safety of software systems
*  Validation and Verification
*  Faults, errors, failures, defects, bugs
*  Software quality and productivity
*  Software security
*  Dependability, survivability, fault tolerance and resilience of
software systems
*  Systems (hardware + software) reliability engineering
*  Metrics and measurements, estimation, prediction of quality/reliability
*  Services reliability engineering
*  Open source software reliability engineering
*  Web 2.0 reliability, availability and security issues
*  Supporting tools and automation
*  Industry best practices
*  Software as a Service
*  Virtualization and software reliability
*  Reliability of mobile devices and applications
*  Green and Sustainable Software Engineering
*  Reliability of Big Data and Internet of Things
*  Empirical studies of any of the above topics
*  Software Standards

Call for Industry Papers

The objective of the Industry Track program is to establish an efficient
dialogue between software practitioners and software engineering
researchers concerning the challenges, findings (both positive and
negative), encountered obstacles, and lessons learned on software
reliability. Of particular interest is information on applying novel
software development, verification and validation practices in diverse
lifecycle styles, industry sectors, and software types.

Submission and formatting guidelines

Given the large number of high quality industry papers in the past few
years and the success of the Industry track, we created an opportunity to
submit "full papers". All accepted papers will be published in IEEE
Xplore. Read details below:

There are two different alternatives for ISSRE Industry Track submissions:

1. Full papers including submission consisting of up to 6-page papers
(including references). This submission will be reviewed by three
reviewers giving feedback. Accepted papers will be published in IEEE
Xplore.

2. Short papers:  including two type of submissions: i) 1 page abstract
and presentation (max20 slides), or ii) 2 pages short paper (including
references). These submissions will also undergo similar review as the
6-pages papers. Abstracts or short papers will appear in conference
proceedings. Papers, presentations and abstracts (even if a one-pager)
must be written in English, and be formatted according to the IEEE
Computer Society Format Guidelines. Papers that exceed the page limits
specified below, or are outside the scope of the symposium, or do not
follow the formatting guidelines may be rejected without review.

We encourage wide industry participation - in recent years, the ISSRE
industry program has expanded and has covered a wide range of topics,
including cloud computing, agile development, mobile communications,
defect prediction, release management, defect classification,
rejuvenation, security, customer experience/satisfaction, availability,
social network analysis, big data analysis, and specific reliability
concerns of the automotive, aviation, healthcare, telecomm, and other
industry sectors.
