ITMATI presents its 2013 activity report

The Technological Institute for Industrial Mathematics Consortium (ITMATI) presents its activity report based on knowledge transfer to industry as a cornerstone for the renewal of universities as academic and scientific institutions.

ITMATI is a cooperation of resources from the 3 universities to promote the transfer of technology and mathematics to help the needs of businesses, industries and public administrations.This is not a new initiative, but a continuation of the work done, in the past thirty years and with great success, by the research groups in the areas of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research of the three Galician universities.

Regarding the projects in which ITMATI participates we should highlight contracts with companies under the FEDER Innterconecta program, based on research in the field of numerical simulation and optimization in industrial processes. In the area of ​​cooperation agreements, a few have been signed with the Galician Universities, the CESGA Foundation, the Spanish Network for Mathematics and Repsol.

As stated by the President of ITMATI, Francisco González García in his presentation letter "we should acknowledge the dedication, work and professionalism of the people, institutions and companies who have contributed and supported this initiative in recent years, thanks to their effort and commitment with research groups in Mathematics and through universities firstly, and from now on through ITMATI. He invites all to continue to collaborate and work with the ITMATI Consortium so it becomes a research and technological transfer centre of international reference in the field of Industrial Mathematics".
