ITMATI fits their numbers: In less than a year, nearly 30 contracts with companies and entities were formalized and 21 technological employments were created.

In record of less than  two years’ time, the Technological Institute of Industrial Mathematics (ITMATI), set out as a center of diffusion of the great potential of mathematical technology and the added value that it contributes in the business network, formalized nearly thirty contracts, which they have the direct participation of 19 companies and involving more than 30 institutions, and created  21 employments. Round numbers.

These are the data that the annual report of activities 2014 reflects.  A document, approved by the Governing Council on July 30, 2015, that reveals a significant increase in the activity during the last year, focusing on the promotion of mathematical technology transfer, from the knowledge developed in the three Galician universities and in providing effective and agile responses for companies, industries and public administrations.

More specifically, since the establishment of ITMATI -in March 2013-  7 contracts under Feder Interconnecta program; 13 direct technological collaborations with companies and entities; a  strategic project of national of national business research consortia (CIEN) managed by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI); Two research projects and individual development (PDI) managed by CDTI; two training courses; a Joint  Research Unit Repsol-ITMATI under the framework of a call of the Galician Innovation Agency, and a competitive project granted by the Norwegian government, were promoted.

All these ITMATI contracts are focused on three major areas of transfer: simulation, statistic / big data and optimization.  Stresses the Numerical Simulation area with 21 active projects which exceeded the 60% of the Center turnover. Then, the optimization area with 12 active projects accounting for the 25% of the turnover. Finally, of statistical / big data area has 7 active projects, accounting for 14.87%. The mathematical technology has enabled ITMATI to solve great interesting problems in practically all industrial sectors. The more billing contracts in sectors were, in decreasing order, energy, materials, naval and environment.

The formalization of these projects have provided around the 95% of revenues of ITMATI during 2014, as  its  report specified, amounting to 525,519.35 euros. The remaining 5% corresponds to the input of the associated entities (UDC, USC and UVigo). The total turnover of ITMATI last year amounted to € 551,529.35.
