ITMATI participates in the kickoff meeting of the ROMSOC project, which takes place in Milano (Italia)

Mrs. Peregrina Quintela Estévez, Professor of Applied Mathematics (USC) and Director of ITMATI, Mr. Andrés Prieto Aneiros, Associate Professor (UDC) and Affiliated Researcher of ITMATI and Mrs. Raluca Silvana Tomoni, Technology Transfer & Innovation Manager, participate in the kick-off meeting of the ROMSOC: Reduced Order Modelling, Simulation and Optimization of coupled System project, that takes place in Milano (Italy), from April 9 to 10, 2018.
 
The main objective of the meeting, organized by Politecnico di Milano, is to welcome the researchers that have been recently selected to participate in ROMSOC network, as well as to discuss several aspects related to the project implementation and to the planning of the future events that will be organized within the framework of the project.
 
The ROMSOC Project is framed within the Marie Sklodoska-Curie action from H2020 program, under the topic “H2020-MSCA-ITN-2017 Innovative Training Networks” and in a specific type of action for European Industrial Doctorates (EID). With this European cooperation initiative, in which ITMATI participates as a partner, and in which participate other 28 institutions from 8 different countries as beneficiaries or partners, we will reinforce our role in boosting and training researchers in the field of Industrial Mathematics. Within this project, ITMATI will co-direct, along with SISSA (Italy) and the industrial partners Danieli (Italy), Microflown (Netherlands) and Arcelor Mittal (Spain), three doctoral theses in the field of Industrial Mathematics.
 
During this meeting, ITMATI will introduce the topic of the two doctoral theses for which it will act as a host institution: “Efficient computational strategies for complex coupled flow, thermal and structural phenomena in parametrized settings” and “Mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of coupled thermo-acoustic multi-layer system for enabling velocity measurements in the presence of airflow”. In addition, ITMATI will present to the other partners of the ROMSOC project, the two events that it will organize within the framework of the project: the international PhD course Multiphysics Modelling and the Study Group with Industry (139 ESGI).
