On September 18, it was held on Santiago de Compostela the Workshop Big Data in Energy

On September 18, 2015, it was held on the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Santiago de Compostela the Workshop Big Data in Energy, organized by the TMATI Network. This workshop aims to explore the Big Data Phenomenon in the energy sector with a dual goal:

• Identify the needs of companies in the energy sector in relation to the processing and analysis of large databases.
• Present the methodologies of statistical and operations research that can be useful when solving the problems associated with the Bid Data phenomenon.

The conference was divided into several sessions and concluded with a Round Table Discussion.: Big Data in Energy, ¿Oportunity or Trend?, moderated by Salvador Naya Fernández, Associate Professor of the University of A Coruña and Affiliated researcher of ITMATI.

Energy efficiency in high-volume:  hospitals, universities, administration ..., forecasts import of LNG of Reganosa, software for Smart Cities, Smart Grid or mathematical optimization in the design of solar plants are some of the topics presented.
