The Department of Statistics and Operations Research of the USC, organizes the XII Galician Congress of Statistics and Operations Research, in Lugo, preceded by online courses of Statistics with R and EPIDAT (from September, 16 to October, 24), these courses will end with a face to face session on October 24, at the Congress.

These courses aim to teach the applications of statistic to different groups: engineers, economist, health workers, biologist, veterinarians, teachers, professionals and researchers who need to analyze data at work, etc.
 

The course includes a brief introduction to R program and Statistical techniques for quality control most used (Methodology 6 Sigma. Ishikawa diagrams and Pareto. Sampling of acceptance. Design of sampling plans. MSA type I and type II. Indices capacity. Shewhart charts. CUSUM. EWMA. Factorial experiments. Mixture Designs. Designs Taguchi), with data and examples step by step, accessible to non-expert users.

The “EPIDAT, Galician software for data analysis” course will be oriented to the use of statistics units of the program.  The course can be considered an introductory course to the common statistical techniques using EPIDAT, in which the utility of the program will be “shown” in different fields: to analyze databases on health grounds, for practical statistics activities in the classroom in secondary education courses.
