III Iberian Modelling Week
From April 11 to April 15, 2016, the III Iberian Modelling Week will take place at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. This edition is organized by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto in collaboration with the Portuguese Network for Industrial Mathematics (PT-MATHS-IN) and the Spanish Network for Mathematics and Industry (math-in).
This event is aimed at students master math aimed at solving industrial problems. In him they meet with academic supervisors to work in groups in defined projects and jointly supervised by academic and industrial partners, and discover how math contribute to solving current industrial problems.
The following problems have been proposed:
- Mathematical Formulas in Portuguese Public-Private Partnerships
- Workforce timetabling optimization
- Drug delivery from polymeric lenses
Registration | There will be a registration fee of 20 Euros per person for 3IMW participants. It covers writing materials, all coffee breaks, all the lunches and the dinner of the meeting, Registration form. Entries are limited and subject to confirmation by the organization.
Deadline | March 24, 2016.
Financial support | The organization may fund attendance of some people interested, giving priority to PhD students and young researchers. Financial support is limited so those who need it, after making the registration through the web, must apply by sending an email to aim@isep.ipp.pt
